“Buttonhead have refined their live act into what closely resembles a burst goat, or the conjunction of mustard and Velcro, and they frequently invite their audiences to spit biscuits and construct large pineapple hammers on stage.”

Just a quick hello regarding our gig last Saturday: it was Trident missile-sized fun. Great standard of bands, good sounding venue, and we got some radio play as a result! We are officially ‘wired-up personality-laced post-hardcore‘.
We’ve all been buzzing after our show at Silver Rocket on Friday night. Its a night we really enjoy anyway, and the standard of bands is very good. Highly recommended.
Big thanks to the rocketfolks for putting us on, and our dedicated crew for showing up. We distributed a load of CD’s (giveaways… thanks to Radiohead for devaluing EVERYTHING last week!*) and received some great feedback. Its really cool to play at a night where the audience are there because of the reputation of the promoters alone. I really enjoyed YouMeTheSwitch (I’m a sucker for instrumental bands despite my shouty nature).
There was a little bit of nakedness, and a lot of masculinity on display during our show. Dan and both wore our lumberjack shirts, of course Vince removed his (although it took him longer than usual….). There might be a trickle of video to follow.
So there’s no current gig plans, but I’m trying to arrange a Brighton gig at the moment as we’ve heard the Freebutt is open again. Yes to sea air, no to having no product to give away any more!!
Adios (Lisa and Michael in particular!).
* We all think this is a good thing… if perhaps a bit of a stunt.
You know what makes a band feel truly special? It’s not upping the hairdo budget for tax reasons.
No, its the cupcakes. Yep, at A Badge of Friendship’s DIY Festival this weekend, the lovely Francesca made cupcakes with all of the band names frosted on top. Yeah. R n R.
The atmosphere was appropriately casual, with bands and audience wandering in and out as they pleased. I particularly enjoyed Limn, especially their new tune (name unknown). Bands like Limn make we wish I had paid more attention in music theory, and less attention to Emma Roberts from 2S.
We played our hearts out: me losing my voice about 2/3rds in. Why is it I can rehearse for 3 hours without my voice giving out, but playing live for 20 mins kills it dead??
Thanks again to Claire+Paul, you’ve given us faith in promoters again.
